Word From The Captain

Lent term was one of mixed fortunes for the Hall, with the men's and women's 1st VIIIs falling 3 and 4 places respectively in bumps. With inexperienced crews it was always going to be a difficult term, especially after last year's successes, and illnesses in the week leading up to the races did little to help! That said, both 2nd boats continued their climb up the bumps tables - W2 were the most successful crew in the club, going up 3 places and narrowly missing out on blades.

With a lot of oarsmen (and women) returning next term we will be training hard to ensure that we can reverse this term's results, and I am confident that we can do so. In the meantime, the next couple of weeks are an exciting time for the club.

In the Henley Boat Races, we had 2 representatives from Trinity Hall - Helena Schofield rowing in Blondie and Rebecca Pound rowing in the winning women's boat race crew. Congratulations to both of them. And it was announced earlier in the week that Rowan Lawson has made it into the Goldie crew for the race tomorrow, so good luck to him for that. GDBO!!

Finally, I'd like to thank everyone who has signed up for the alumni regatta next Saturday - the response has been unbelievable and it promises to be a fantastic occasion. Let's just hope for some nice weather too!
