Word From The Captain

As the dust settles after the Lent Bumps we can look back on a great term of rowing. The women's side of the boat club continues to strengthen as shown by their fantastic performance in the bumps, going up three places. Whilst both men's crews suffered from poor 'bumps luck' they both put in great performances and gained valuable experience which will stand them in good stead next term.
Although the Lent Bumps are over, the action hasn't stopped. The men's and women's first boats will be racing at the Head of the River Race and the Women's Head of the River Race, respecively. Both are held on the Thames - the WeHoRR is on the 13th March and the HoRR is on the 27th. Any voices on the bank would be much appreciated! The THBC also hopes to enter some boats into the Cardinal's Regatta, a fun fancy dress race held on 11th March.
Finally, I would like to wish good luck to the members of our club who will be representing the University at the Henley Boat Races - Cat Taylor will be coxing the Women's Blue Boat, Iain Rist will be rowing in the Men's Lightweight Boat and Stacey Hickson and Rebecca Pound will be rowing in the Women's Reserves boat (Blondie).
