Word From The Captain

May term has started well for the Trinity Hall Boat Club, with some great performances so far from all crews. The highlight of the term so far has certainly been Bedford regatta, to which we took four eights. The first men got through to the semi-finals of IM3 eights, and the first women also did very well, just losing to Bedford High School in the semi-finals with a broken cox box. The women's second eight were beaten in their first round but did fantastically in the plate event, getting through to the finals and just losing out to Molesy (race reports here).
In other news, our second women have been recently featured on the front page of the Cambridge News thanks to a daring rescue of a dog from the river. Although the article incorrectly attributes this to Trinity, the girls are having a follow-up article and photo done as I write this which should set the record straight. More details here.
I'm also pleased to announce that the campaign to raise money for the new men's coxed IV+ was successful. We've recently put an order in for a Filippi Italia S coxed four, so we will be able to enjoy one of the best boats on the river come Michaelmas term! Many thanks to all who have helped towards this boat.
Looking ahead, May Bumps is nearly upon us and runs from Wednesday 9th June to Saturday 12th June. All support is welcome! ROW HALL!
